AI search is different.
The explanation should be clear.
What MachineUp does, how it differs from SEO and basic schema, and why it keeps working after your profile is first published.
What types of businesses is MachineUp built for?
At launch, MachineUp is specifically built for three groups: machine shops and precision machining businesses; small manufacturers and fabricators; and contractors, specialty trades, and related local services.
Choose the closest match in the scanner. If none fits, choose Other / Not sure — let MachineUp classify it. MachineUp treats the selection as a starting point, checks it against the company’s public information, and uses the evidence to determine the appropriate classification behavior.
These businesses are a strong fit because buyers need more than a name and phone number. They need to understand capabilities, materials or services, service areas, equipment, credentials, project requirements, availability, and how to request a quote or book work.
MachineUp is not currently optimized for SaaS companies, professional firms, healthcare providers, logistics companies, or traditional online stores. Additional industry maps may be added after the three launch categories consistently meet MachineUp’s accuracy standard.
Can MachineUp help if I only have a Facebook page and no website?
Yes. This is one of the strongest use cases for MachineUp. You can start with a Facebook page, Google Business or Maps listing, LinkedIn business page, or another credible public business profile.
After ownership verification, MachineUp organizes the facts AI needs, publishes a crawlable machine-readable profile, and gives the business a maintained machine-facing presence without requiring you to build a traditional website first.
How is MachineUp different from SEO?
SEO helps search engines discover, index, and rank website pages. Traditional search usually gives a buyer links to explore. AI search can gather information, compare businesses, and form an answer or shortlist before the buyer visits every website.
SEO helps AI find you. MachineUp helps AI understand and qualify you. MachineUp complements a good website and SEO; it does not replace them.
What exactly is schema?
Schema is standardized code that labels basic information on a webpage so machines can more easily identify what it means. It can describe details such as a business name, location, services, hours, and contact information. JSON-LD is a common format used to publish that schema.
Schema can help machines interpret a page, but it does not guarantee that an AI system will mention, rank, recommend, or shortlist a business.
Can my web developer do this?
Your web developer can add standard schema to your website. That is useful, but schema is only one part of becoming machine-ready.
MachineUp also maintains deeper verified business information, monitors for changes and missing details, tests realistic AI qualification scenarios, recommends improvements for your approval, and republishes approved updates through the MachineUp layer.
Can I add schema myself?
Yes. Website plugins and schema generators can publish basic markup. The harder work is determining which business details matter, confirming they are accurate, keeping them current, and testing whether AI can correctly use them to evaluate fit.
How does MachineUp go beyond generic schema?
Generic schema identifies what kind of business you are. MachineUp organizes the deeper, verified details AI needs to evaluate whether your business fits a particular job.
Your business is mapped according to what its customers need to know—not forced into a generic business template. Where standard schema is appropriate, MachineUp uses it. Richer details are also published through a crawlable profile and clean machine-readable endpoints.
Do I need to replace or rebuild my website?
No. If you have a website, it remains your public face while MachineUp adds and maintains a separate machine-ready layer. No website rebuild or required technical integration is needed.
No website? No problem. You can start with a Facebook page, Google Business or Maps listing, LinkedIn business page, or credible directory profile. After ownership verification, the crawlable MachineUp profile can become the business’s first reliable machine-facing presence. MachineUp does not become a full website builder.
Why is MachineUp a monthly service?
A business changes. Public information changes. AI search systems change. MachineUp continues hosting and publishing your profile, monitoring for stale or missing details, running qualification tests, recommending improvements, and retesting approved changes.
MachineUp is $19.99 per month for one business, with no setup fee or long-term contract.
How does MachineUp connect to my existing website?
No. In fact, a business that relies mainly on Facebook, Google Business, LinkedIn, or directory pages may have even more to gain because important capabilities and qualification facts are often scattered across posts, photos, reviews, and short profile fields.
MachineUp can start from that public footprint, let the owner verify and add the deeper facts AI needs, then publish a dedicated crawlable machine-ready profile and structured outputs. Customers can still be directed to the phone, Facebook page, Messenger, or other contact path the business already uses. No website build is required.
What does MachineUp monitor and test?
MachineUp checks whether important public business information remains clear and current, and whether realistic AI qualification scenarios correctly recognize when the business appears to fit. Testing results identify information that may be missing, unclear, contradictory, or overlooked.
These are controlled tests—not claims of actual customer searches.
What exactly does an Observed AI Test check?
MachineUp can record separate checkpoints instead of reducing the test to one final answer: whether the business was discovered, the correct entity was selected, the MachineUp profile or endpoint was accessed, required capabilities and constraints were extracted, unsupported capabilities were avoided, the qualification decision was correct, missing RFQ inputs were identified, and the correct RFQ or action path was selected.
Each checkpoint can retain supporting evidence or a failure reason so an owner can see why a controlled test passed or failed.
Does MachineUp submit RFQs or contact businesses during diagnostic testing?
No. RFQ and action-path diagnostics are safe no-submit tests. MachineUp can evaluate whether an RFQ is appropriate, which buyer inputs are missing, and which public contact or action path should be used without actually submitting the request or contacting the business.
What happens when my business information changes?
MachineUp can identify possible changes or gaps and present suggested updates. You remain responsible for confirming important business facts. Once approved, changes can be published across the maintained MachineUp profile and its machine-readable outputs.
Does MachineUp guarantee that AI will recommend my business?
No. Outside search engines and AI systems control their own crawling, indexing, ranking, answers, and recommendations. MachineUp cannot guarantee placement.
MachineUp gives those systems clearer, verified, current information to work with and tests where your business may still be misunderstood or missed.
What happens after the free scan?
The free scan shows what MachineUp can find and confidently support from public information, along with important gaps or conflicts. If you activate MachineUp, you can claim the business, verify important facts, resolve missing details, and publish the maintained machine-ready profile.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. MachineUp has no long-term contract. You can cancel the monthly service at any time.
Where is MachineUp based?
MachineUp is a U.S.-based service operated by Lets Pony Up LLC in Hayesville, North Carolina. Contact and mailing information is available on our Contact page.
What if my business already has a high AI Readiness score?
A high score is good news. It means AI can already verify most of the qualification information MachineUp checks. The reason to subscribe is different: verify that interpretation with the owner, publish a clean machine-readable source, watch for drift or conflicting information, retest qualification over time, and keep a history of changes.
MachineUp should not invent weak “problems” just to justify a subscription.
Is an Observed AI Test the same as a real customer search?
No. MachineUp uses controlled buyer-style qualification scenarios and records exactly which platform/model was tested. The result shows discovery, source support and qualification behavior for that controlled test. It is never presented as proof that a real customer performed that exact search.
Why does MachineUp care so much about classification?
Because classification is upstream of almost everything else. A wrong category can lead to the wrong qualification map, competitors, source expectations, buyer questions, tests and recommendations. MachineUp surfaces ambiguous classifications for review instead of quietly building a polished report on the wrong business model.
What is Industry Source Coverage?
It is MachineUp's review of important public sources AI may rely on when understanding the business. MachineUp looks for the sources it can verify, checks whether important facts agree, surfaces missing or stale information, and connects key qualification facts to supporting evidence.
What are crawler and machine-access checks?
These are technical checks that help confirm the machine layer can be retrieved and interpreted: access rules, profile availability and indexability, server-rendered facts, valid JSON-LD, JSON/API availability, canonical URLs and obvious duplicate-profile issues. Passing the checks does not guarantee an AI system will cite or recommend the business.
Does MachineUp test ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews?
MachineUp's testing architecture is built to keep results separate for ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews rather than blending them into one generic score. Automated coverage expands only where MachineUp can run a reliable, repeatable test. A platform is never labeled as tested unless that platform/model actually ran, and the $19.99 introductory plan includes the testing layer as supported coverage expands.
What does the introductory $19.99 price mean?
MachineUp is offering $19.99/month introductory pricing for a limited time. Businesses that subscribe at that price can keep it while the subscription remains continuously active. No setup fee and no long-term contract.
